LITTLE WHITE LIES, the generational ensemble dramatic comedy by Guillaume Canet, the writer-director of Tell No One, stars Academy Award® winners Marion Cotillard (La Vie en Rose, The Dark Knight Rises) and Jean Dujardin (The Artist) along with François Cluzet (Tell No One, The Intouchables) and Gilles Lellouche (Point Blank, Mesrine), LITTLE WHITE LIES follows a close-knit group of friends whose bonds are tested and strengthened over a summer holiday.
Bringing together some of the top names from France’s current generation of actors, Mr. Canet weaves a joyous and heartfelt ensemble film out of the dilemmas of eight thirty and forty-something close friends as they vacation together in the summer beach house of uptight restaurateur Max (Mr. Cluzet). Starting out light and carefree, tensions begin to fill the air when Ludo is clinging to life following a motorcycle accident, and Max is grappling with unwanted affections from Vincent (The Piano Teacher's Benoit Magimel), whose married l

Chelsea’s Agora Gallery will feature the original work of French artist, Sylvie Vermandel. The opening reception will be held on Thursday night, September 20, 2012 from 6-8 pm
About the Artist
The oil paintings of French artist Sylvie Vermandel, which the artist refers to as ‘jewel paintings,’ are simultaneously representational and symbolic, reflective of the beautiful natural world that surrounds us as well as the spirituality and light that underscores everything we experience. Rather than using a palette, Vermandel mixes her colors directly on the canvas in thin layers, creating varying contrasts so that the observer is able to attain new perspectives on the painting. Dancer and choreographer Faustin Linyekula returns to Crossing the Line with a new solo work following his 2011 sold-out performances. In the raw and intimate Le Cargo, Faustin Linyekula examines his personal story within the context of his native Congo’s rich and tumultuous history. Infused with potent music and his powerful personal narrative, Faustin beautifully investigates his relationship with dance, the physical language through which he has told his country’s stories for a decade, as he searches for traces of this brutal history on his body.
