Multi-lingual vocalist Lua Hadar, fresh from successes in New York and San Francisco with her show, French Connection, now prepares to bring that show to the country of its origins – to France. The vocalist debuted the show with her high-octane band, TWIST, at San Francisco’s elegant Rrazz Room in September 2009, to excellent reviews, following her July 2009 Paris debut and the start of a collaboration with brilliant young French bass player, Albin Suffys of Lille, France. That collaboration, begun in San Francisco, now bears fruit in a cultural exchange that brings the vocalist to teach a Master Class and appear in concert at the Theatre les Tisserands, in Lomme, France, just outside of Lille, on May 22, 2010. 60 rue Victor Hugo, 59160 Lomme, Show info telephone: 03.20.22.05.05. Concert Tickets: 10 Euros, 5 Euros reduced.

The international collaboration involves the Ville de Lomme, theatre company Les Chantiers de L’Indédit of Lille, the Ecole Municipale de Musique et de Danse de Lomme, and the Musiconoclast’ Orchestra, under the direction of Albin Suffys. Filipino-American pianist John Florencio, now residing in Paris, accompanies both the master class and The French TWIST. The full evening program on May 22 will feature both Lua Hadar with The French TWIST and the Musiconoclast’ Orchestra in concert. A new work, Come Back to California, written by San Francisco composer/pianist Candace Forest, will receive its world premiere, with the composer at the piano.
