Martin combs Los Angeles for his mother’s mysterious friend and companion, finding no trace of her. Traumatized at the sight of his mother’s body in the morgue, he drives to Tijuana in search of Lola, thinking she should inherit his mother’s apartment. But is Lola, his childhood playmate, truly the woman who brightened his mother’s life in Los Angeles — or is she a darker femme fatale, echoing the titular screen character from one of Jacques Demy’s key works?

DANCING FOREVER
FAIS DANSER LA POUSSIERE
"Based on Marie Do's autobiographical novel, ["Dancing Forever"] neatly balances the two dominant factors in its heroine's destiny: her mixed-race heritage and her passion for dance. "Dancing Forever's" consistently upbeat tone matches its heroine's indomitable spirit. Featuring fully fleshed-out, juicily ambivalent characters coping with complexities of racism in 1960s France, and a wealth of colorful, well-executed terpsichorean material performed by a talented, real-life ballerina lead, pic satisfies on a number of levels." - VarietyWHAT: GEMS OF THE AFRICAN DIASPORA INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL
