Master director Patricio Guzmán travels 10,000 feet above sea level to the driest desert on earth for this remarkable documentary. Here, the sky is so translucent that it allowsastronomers to see the boundaries of our universe. Yet the Atacama Desert climate also keeps human remains intact: pre-Columbian mummies; explorers and miners; and the remains of disappeared political prisoners. Women sift the desert soil for the bones of their loved ones, while archaeologists uncover traces of ancient civilizations and astronomers examine the most distant and oldest galaxies. Melding celestial and earthly quests,NOSTALGIA FOR THE LIGHT is a gorgeous, moving, and deeply personal odyssey.
There will be a Q&A with director Patricio Guzman on 3/18/11.

"POTICHE," starring Catherine Deneuve
- Mar 24, 2011 to Mar 31, 2011
- Location: The Paris Theatre (and other theaters)
- Description:
Master French filmmaker François Ozon returns with a hilarious, visually stunning love letter to 1970’s style starring eternal fashion icon Catherine Deneuve.
Set in 1977 in a provincial town, POTICHE is a free adaptation of the 1970’s eponymous hit comic play. Deneuve plays Suzanne Pujol, a submissive, housebound "potiche" who steps in to manage her wealthy and tyrannical husband’s umbrella factory after the workers go on strike and take him hostage. To everyone’s surprise, Suzanne proves herself a competent and assertive woman of action. But when her husband returns from a restful cruise in top form, things get complicated… Gérard Depardieu plays a former union leader and Suzanne's ex-beau who still holds a flame for her.
Selected for the 2010 Venice and Toronto Film Festivals, POTICHE is a bona fide critical and box office hit in France, where it has been nominated for four Césars for Best Actress, Best Supporting Actress, Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Costume Design.

Korkoro Opens March 25 at Cinema Village in NY
- Mar 24, 2011 to Apr 1, 2011
- Location: The Village
- Description:
Lorber Films is pleased to announce the U.S. theatrical premiere of Tony Gatlif’s (Exiles, Latcho Drom) epic drama KORKORO (Liberté), the story of a wandering tribe of Gypsies who were rounded up by the Germans in WWII France. Based on historical events, KORKORO features a genre-shattering original score by Delphine Mantoulet that pulsates with Gatlif’s signature musical verve and poignancy, this time infusing the Gypsy sound with influences from period musicians such as Maurice Chevalier and Django Reinhardt. The film resonates with the current European political context in which nations grapple with the integration – and in some cases deportation – of Gypsies amidst significant controversy. Gatlif’s latest work wields an impressive cast of French talent including Marie Josée Croze (Tell No One, The Diving Bell and the Butterfly), Marc Lavoine (The Good Thief) and Rufus (Amelie). KORKORO will have its U.S. theatrical premiere on March 25th at the Cinema Village in New York, follow

About the Artist
Fun, unexpected, original – there are many words that could be used to describe Did Dontzoff’s paintings because this artist's unique style refuses to fit into ordinary categories. However you characterize them, it is certain that Dontzoff has created a singular body of work with a veritable brand appeal to it. The Russian native crafts wild images of otherworldly figures that appear to zigzag and fold into their surroundings, themselves, and each other. The beings alternate between proud, statuesque poses and others that deflate into a thrilling jumble of lines. They often seem to split apart or reach toward one another so that you cannot tell where one figure ends and another begins. Dontzoff employs a robust, graphic style with areas of flat, vivid col - Created by: Lee Eagle
