Concert Celebrates American Conservatory at Fontainebleau’s 90^th Anniversary on March 23 at Kosciuszko Foundation 

French pianist and Director of the American Conservatory at Fontainebleau Philippe Entremont celebrates the conservatory’s 90^th anniversary with a concert on March 23 at the Kosciuszko Foundation. The evening program features works by Debussy, Fauré, Poulenc, Schubert, and the US premiere of Allain Gaussin’s Tokyo City. Entremont will be joined by distinguished alumni of the American Conservatory at Fontainebleau.

The American Conservatory at Fontainebleau was founded in 1921 to introduce exceptional American music students to the French musical tradition. The legendary pedagogue Nadia Boulanger devoted her talent, energy, and knowledge to the prestigious academy of classical music, which she directed from 1949 to 1979. 

Esteemed former faculty of the institution include Maurice Ravel, Marcel Dupré, Jean Francaix, Henri Dutilleux, Betsy Jolas, Leonard Bernstein, Robert, Gaby & Jean Casadesus. World-renowned alumni include Aaron Copland, Virgil Thomson, Louise Talma, Samuel Dushkin, Eliott Carter, Beveridge Webster, Kenton Coe and Quincy Jones.
