Say a few words about yourself
I'm a French contemporary music composer living both in Paris and Berlin.
I had a grant from the French Institute in Paris to spend 3 months in New York to do some research for a composition project.
My work is at the crossroads between scientific models and musical processes. Using psychoanalytical or psycho-physiological notions, I elaborate dense, cinematic and ramified sound networks, trying to write a music that would evoke the unconscious psychic activity or the neuronal structure.
I also investigate the relationships between the psyche and the city, exploring a hybrid structural and sound territory, half-way between organic and mechanical matter. I work on structures and being aware of the strong impact that microscopic units have on matter and forms, I also include models from other scientific fields which observe these phenomena such as genetics, particle physics or nanosciences. In this perspective, talking of “sound quanta” or “sound molecules”, I describes my music as a “musical genetics” or a “nanomusic”.
