A tribute to the victims of the Holocaust, and a commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the end of WWII, “The Workroom”, takes place in the centre of Paris, in the Workroom of a tailor shop owned by Jewish Eastern-European immigrants. It begins after the liberation of Paris. Léon and Hélène have reopened the workroom, and now employ Madame Laurence, Gisèle, Mimi, Marie, and Simone. All these different destinies cross paths with one another and raise the same single question: how does one keep on living after the trauma of the war and the Holocaust?
