Arthur Nauzyciel directs a site-specific staged reading based on the French novel Jan Karski written by Yannick Haenel and translated by Ian Monk (published in the U.S. as The Messenger).

Adapted by Arthur Nauzyciel, it recounts the heroic acts of Jan Karski, a messenger of the Polish Resistance, who risked his life beginning in 1942 to report to the Allies on the destruction of the Warsaw ghetto and the Holocaust. The novel blends documentary and fiction to relate the life of Karski, one of the witnesses interviewed in Claude Lanzmann’s landmark documentary, Shoah.
