Filmmaker Luc Moullet’s deadpan, off-kilter documentary begins with the story of his distant relative who went on a murderous rampage following an incident with a goat in 1900. Now he suspects his hometown may be a bit more sinister than the average Alpine village. No conspiracy theory is too outrageous in Moullet’s search to explain why a couple of sleepy mountain towns seems to be a hotbed for murder, suicide, and insanity.
