A collection of 125 letters taken from a captured Irish ship on its return to Dublin from France during the Seven Years’ War and left unopened until 2011 is the basis for The Bordeaux-Dublin Letters, 1757: Correspondence of an Irish Community Abroad (Vol. 53 of the British Academy’s Records of Social and Economic History, Oxford University Press, 2013). Two of the editors of the volume, professors John Shovlin and Tom Truxes of NYU, discuss the accompanying exhibition, on view at Bobst Library through April 1, 2014. Click here for more information on the exhibit.
