Cohen Media Group is proud to announce the release of RODIN, Jacques Doillon's drama about the creative and personal life of Auguste Rodin, one of the great masters of modern sculpture, starring award-winning actor Vincent Lindon. RODIN is scheduled to open in New York and Los Angeles on Friday, June 1st, followed by a national roll out.

Paris, 1880. 40 year-old Rodin (Vincent Lindon) finally receives his first state commission, “The Gates of Hell,” which will include “The Kiss” and “The Thinker,” two of his most famous creations. Constantly working, he shares his life with his lifelong partner, Rose (Séverine Caneele) and his mistress, the young Camille Claudel (Izïa Higelin,) the gifted student who becomes his assistant and a talented sculptor in her own right during a decade of passion, mutual admiration and creative collaboration. Following their painful break up, Rodin continues to work relentlessly while facing both the rejection and enthusiasm provoked by the sensuality and originality of his sculptures. Rodin’s statue of Balzac, long in the making and rejected during his lifetime, will become the starting point of modern sculpture. 2018 marks the centenary of Rodin’s death, which is being commemorated with centennial exhibits around the world at venues including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Brooklyn Museum, The British Museum, and Paris’ Le Grand Palais.

Vincent Lindon has been one of the most sought after and versatile French actors since the 1980s, appearing in over 70 films by such noted directors as Benoît Jacquot (Diary of a Chambermaid, The School of Flesh, Seventh Heaven,) Claude Lelouch (There Were Days…and Moons, La belle histoire,) Coline Serreau (Chaos,) Claire Denis (Friday Night, Bastards,) Alain Cavalier (Pater,) Nicole Garcia (Charlie Says) and Stéphane Brizé (Mademoiselle Chambon, A Few Hours of Spring). Lindon’s performance in Brizé’s The Measure of a Man earned him the Cannes Film Festival's Best Actor Award and the César for Best Actor. Lindon will next be seen in Brizé’s new film At War, premiering in competition at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival.
