VOIX DE FEMMES (Voices of Women) is an assemblage of poetry and music in French, a spotlight on beautiful and often unknown writings by women from the Antilles, Belgium, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Central Africa, Congo, Ivory Coast, France, Haiti, Lebanon, Mali, Quebec, Senegal, Switzerland, alternating with Malian music by Awa Sangho, recently called the new voice of Africa. Each of these women, in her own word and her own time, evokes freedom, sensuality and the idea of an invisible feminine universe. Their poems speak to each like a conversation that explores profound themes such as identity, origins, exile, creation, love, life, and the joy of revival.
Voix de Femmes was originally inspired by Eleonore Dyl and Mathilde Schennen, and directed by Eléonore Dyl, with Justine Thurman as Assistant Director. Actresses are Mathilde Schennen and Lola Diane. Voice and Musical direction by Awa Sangho.
