    New York, New York – Laurence de Valmy is pleased to announce an exhibition “Colors & reflections” of recent paintings at the French restaurant O Cabanon in Chelsea, NY. The exhibition will open on April 6 and will remain on view through June 6, 2016.

     

    Laurence de Valmy is a French painter who fell in love with the American movements of Contemporary Realism and Photorealism, to the point of becoming a realist painter herself. She believes that what we see influences our mood. Therefore she chooses to paint colorful and bright paintings to create happy and peaceful moments in time. 

     

    For this exhibition, curated by Emilie Boix, Manager at OCabanon, Laurence will present a body of work around the study of the light and its impact on colors and reflections. “It’s fascinating to notice how light transforms the colors or how reflections are playful.   • French-American art Exhibition at FIAF Montclair

    Artists Laurence de Valmy (France) and Mary Beth McAllister (USA) are pleased to announce their respective exhibitions French Reflections and Les Gardiens du Jardin at the French Institute Alliance Française (FIAF) in Montclair. The exhibitions will open on Friday, May 20 and will remain on view through Thursday, June 16, 2016 in FIAF Montclair’s new, expanded space.

     

    An opening reception will be held at FIAF Montclair on Friday, May 20th at 6 pm with both artists and the FIAF Montclair team. The exhibitions are included on the Montclair Art Walk tour, which takes place that same evening. Both exhibitions are curated by Marie-Catherine Glaser, Director of FIAF Montclair:  “While both artists have different universes and backgrounds, they share a love for French culture, and their work is full of joie de vivre,” said Marie-Catherine Glaser.

    Artists for Peace and Justice and Artists Institute of Haiti join French Institute Alliance Française (FIAF) to present Haïti Optimiste!

    Attend a star-studded celebration of creativity and culture through music, dance and film benefiting Artists Institute of Jacmel, a college for art and technology located in Jacmel. The evening will be hosted by Grammy Award-Winning neo soul musician Maxwell and will include: a screening of the film Dans la cour de Vivianne Gauther; musical performances by Paul Beaubrun, leading Haitian singer/songwriter and guitarist who has performed and collaborated with Arcade Fire, Jackson Browne, Sheryl Crow and Lauryn Hill; Riva Précil with Bohio Music, a Haitian fusion of roots/racine, jazz, and African tones; Lakou Mizik, a multi-generational Haitian roots band; and a Q&A with Maxwell and Artists Institute founder David Belle with special guests.
