    About

"Jeux Droles" is the first acting workshop for children to learn and have fun in French - Starting in January @ CoucouBrooklyn
    Mission
Teach a language through acting, boost self-confidence and have fun.
    Description

    Have fun with acting

“Jeux D’roles” means roleplay and funny games. Our approach is based on words and pronunciation, sense memory, repetition, improvisation and immersion, invented scenes or scenes from existing plays.

    Learn a language
Our workshops are bilingual but mostly taught in French. Our objective is to teach children how to learn to communicate and have fun in another language. Speaking a language is not only about saying words. It is also about finding your “persona” in another language. This includes thoughts, sensations, emotions and experiences in another language that can be discovered and explored through acting. Our classes offer a trusted and safe environment that enables children to develop imagination and focus, and to build self-confidence.

  • Apr 24, 2014 to May 23, 2014
  • Location: IFC Center
  • Description:

Sundance Selects is proud to announce the release of  YOUNG & BEAUTIFUL, the latest drama from Francois Ozon, one of the most provocative French writer-directors, featuring a star-making performance by stunning newcomer Marine Vacth.  YOUNG & BEAUTIFUL is scheduled to open in New York (IFC Center) on Friday, April 25 followed by a national roll out.

“No one’s serious at 17,” wrote Arthur Rimbaud,  a sentiment  that may justify the choices made by 17-year-old Isabelle (Ms. Vacth), over the course of a pivotal year. Her transgressive and intimately observed coming-of-age journey is divided in four seasonal chapters and four pop songs, from her sexual awakening to her first time, to her foray into prostitution and her search for identity. Francois Ozon observes her journey without judgment, reflecting on the emotions and insecurities that saturate a young person’s entrance into adulthood, and again proves a master at coaxing strong performances from young actors. YOUNG & BEAUTIFUL was nomi

  • May 7, 2014 at 6:00pm to May 8, 2014 at 8:00am
  • Location: Le Poisson Rouge
  • Description:

  • QUEEN MARGOT

  • May 8, 2014 to May 15, 2014
  • Location: Film Forum
  • Description:

Cohen Media Group is proud to announce the new restoration of Patrice Chéreau’s lavish historical drama QUEEN MARGOT (1994), starring Isabelle Adjani in the title role which will open at Film Forum on Friday, May 9 followed by a national roll out.

France, 1572, and during an uneasy break in the wars of religion, Jean-Hugues Anglade’s King Charles IX concludes a marriage of state between his sister, Isabelle Adjani’s Catholic Margot, and Daniel Auteuil’s Huguenot King Henry of Navarre, by ramming forward a reluctant Adjani’s head in lieu of a ‘Oui’. But Virna Lisi’s skull-faced Queen Mother/Regent is already plotting the St. Bartholomew’s Day Massacre, and that’s just the beginning of the head-snapping side switches, non-stop scheming, sometimes accidental poisoning, double beheadings, and frenzied couplings, including Adjani’s throbbingly romantic affair with Vincent Perez’s La Môle.

The late Patrice Chéreau’s high octane adaptation of the Alexandre Dumas novel begins in fifth gear and n

Students will learn direct color perception and how to simplify the landscape into basic masses. For more information and to register, go to http://www.angelamanno.com/classes.php or check out the new Facebook Page with lots more images and a video clip of painting in the lavender fields of Provence. I look forward to answering any questions. A bientôt!
