  • French Immersion Summer Camp with Bonjour NY - spaces available!

    Imagine a summer where your child learns how to bake bread à la française, plays football with a counselor from Senegal, can't stop laughing while playing le chat qui rit, encounters des tigres and des lions at the Central Park Zoo, wishes a new best friend a hearty bon appétit before lunch, decorates a crown fit for a king or queen during Chevaliers de la Table Ronde week, teaches you his or her new favorite song "Aux Champs-Élysées" and puts on a spectacle for all to see how much fun we had!

    The Bonjour NY French Summer Camp is designed so that children have an amazing and memorable experience that encourages their personal growth. Campers will learn while playing and having fun in a stimulating and safe environment. The French language will be used for all the activities, but it won't be implemented as in a traditional language class. At the Bonjour NY French Summer Camp, we will spend a maximum amount of time on outdoor activities.

    The Immediate Family resurrects the classic Arthurian legend of an unassuming boy who undertakes the noblest adventure of all: the Quest for the Holy Grail. Spanning centuries of sources from Medieval French literature (Chretien de Troyes) to the modern cinema (Erich Rohmer), a small but resourceful cast will bring to life a world of duels and damsels, curses and spells, despicable fiends, bleeding spears, floating castles — and hopefully even the Cup itself!

    PERCEVAL is presented by The Immediate Family as part of the Seventeenth Annual New York International Fringe Festival (A Production of the Present Company)

  • Vernissage/Art Opening at Coucou Brooklyn

    In step with their goals of promoting French culture, Coucou Brooklyn is proud to announce its exhibition of a selection of works by Parisian artist, ElloLino. The works will be on view beginning on Thursday, August 22nd, and Coucou Brooklyn will kick off the exhibition with an opening party. 

     

    ElloLino operates under the credo that "Art is for Sharing," and has created public sculptures and works of art all over France. We will be showing a series of linocuts by her, entitled "A Sharp Diamond" and "Les Bonnes Résolutions.”

     

    Working with linocuts and large sculptures alike, ElloLino says that her art is made “for sharing.” In Paris, she creates large, public works that can be touched, climbed, and with which the public can interact.  Her work appears all over France, and Coucou Brooklyn is honored be the first space to show her work in the States.

     

    The event is free, and drinks are available with small donation. The works will be up for the next couple of weeks, and Coucou Brooklyn encou
