    SYNOPSIS
1942 – Paris is occupied by Nazi Germans. A young Algerian immigrant named Younes makes his living in the black market. He is arrested by the French police and agrees to spy for them at the Paris Mosque in exchange for his freedom. The police suspects that the rector of the mosque is producing false papers for Jews and members of the French resistance. At the mosque, Younes meets Salim Halali, a singer from Algeria, who charms him with his voice and personality. The two become friends, and Younes soon finds out that Salim is Jewish. Despite the risks, Younes decides to put an end to his collaboration with the police and, little by little, turns into an ardent proponent of freedom.
