Join Haiti Cultural Exchange and the New York Historical Society for Heart of Haiti, an evening of music and spoken word, organized in conjunction with the Symposium, “The Age of Revolution: A Whole History.” This concert is presented by Bank of America as part of the Friday Free Performance Series at the New-York Historical Society.

Tiga Jean-Baptiste is a multitalented Haitian musician continuing his family legacy while embracing music of other lands — Haitian drumming, traditional Haitian bamboo and tin wind instruments, the shona mbira from Zimbabwe and the Australian didgeridoo.
Millery Polyné is Assistant Professor at NYU’s Gallatin School of Individualized Study and a 2003 recipient of the New York Foundation for the Arts Poetry Fellowship.
Gina Athena Ulysse weaves history and personal narrative with Vodou chants to dramatize and address issues of social injustice. She is an Associate Professor at Wesleyan University.
