Field trip to see a contemporary French playBattle of Black and Dogs at Yale Rep:Join La Comédie Française New York - actfrench.com for dinner and discussion in New Haven, followed by the performance of Bernard-Marie Koltès Battle of Black and Dogs at Yale Rep. Set in remote corner of Africa, Battle of Black and Dogs is a politically, sexually, and culturally charted tale of psychological warfare that erupts at an isolated construction compound. When a hired man mysteriously dies, his brother arrives at the compound to collect the body - and the site manager, his fiancé and an engineer all become embroiled in the cover up of the worker's death. The haunting thriller by acclaimed French writer Bernard-Marie Koltès is directed by visionary theatre artist Robert Woodruff, whose 2009 production of Notes from Underground was hailed as "a brilliantly original work of art" (The Boston Globe).SCHEDULE:Saturday May 8, 20103:30: Leave NYC (rides provided)6:00pm : dinner in New Haven, discussion led by La Comédie Française New York teacher Maniaha Snoyer (each person is responsible for purchasing their own dinner)8:00pm: performance of Battle of Black and Dogs at Yale RepTickets (group rate):Students and drivers: $20Friends: $57Please contact: actfrench@gmail.com to RSVP to this event or call Manisha at (646)623-4802$20 for drivers, please specify if you can provide a ride.TICKETS MUST BE PURCHASED IN ADVANCE THROUGH LA COMEDIE FRANCAISE NEW YORK TO OBTAIN THE GROUP RATE: actfrench@gmail.com*If you cannot attend the performance on this date, you may still get a $10 discount to the show by using code "friend of la comedie francaise" when you call the box office.
