Roser Salavert is leadership coach and English Language Learner expert with Fordham NYC RBE-RN at Fordham Graduate School of Education, and an international consultant in education and publishing. Roser has a proven record of success that spans over 25 years in managing complex projects at the city, state and national scale. As a former schools superintendent with the New York City Department of Education (District 3), Roser transformed schools in high need areas by nurturing the leadership of principals and teachers, building collaborative teams around data, and promoting dual language programs, technology and student advisories. In 2010, she secured a multi million federal grant to close the district’s achievement gap through innovative programs in science, math, and language studies. Recruited by Scholastic Publishing Inc. in 1992, Roser developed a Spanish and ESL product portfolio that led to major state textbook adoptions and the company’s expansion into a new market. From 1982 to 1989, Roser was a supervisor of bilingual and ESL programs with the Massachusetts State Department of Education. She received her doctoral degree in Educational Leadership and Technology from the University of Amherst, and a Master’s in Pyscholinguistics and Teacher’s degree from the Autònoma University of Barcelona. She began her career as a teacher and school psychologist in her native Barcelona (Spain), and moved to the United States in 1980.
