Smith Street Arts et Lettres is a progressive French-American school located in Brooklyn, NY. Our bilingual curriculum emphasizes a Reggio-Emilia inspired, holistic approach to education. Smith Street Maternelle is opening a second location in Gowanus in September 2020, and we have a few openings for lead and assistant teacher positions. Our current staff is a group of wonderful, warm, brilliant teachers who are deeply dedicated to the growth of our program within the French American community in Brooklyn. NEW French Immersion Preschool in Carroll Gardens

Bonjour à tous!

Smith St reet Wo rkshop, a comprehensive bilingual learning center in Brooklyn, is moving into a larger space in the summer of 2017 and opening a licensed French Immersion Preschool Program in Carroll Gardens. After years of dreaming about it, and with a successful beginning to our playgroup this year, we will continue the momentum and open spots to more children in the fall of 2017 in our beautiful, brand new space on Henry Street. In partnership with CottageClass, we are now accepting applications for the 2017-2018 school year.

We will also have space for more French art & music classes, academic tutoring, and will continue to grow our test-prep programs. We hope to be a one-stop-shop for children's needs throughout their academic career here in NYC.

Fall French at Smith Street Workshop

Registration is open for Fall classes at the workshop!

We are launching our infant/toddler morning program in September. Art, music & dramatic play in French for 18 months - 4 years. http://www.smithstreetworkshop.com/infanttoddler/

Smith Street Workshop - A New Tutoring and Language Center in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn

I am thrilled to announce the launch of Smith Street Workshop!

Two years ago I left a teaching position at PS 58's dual language program and started a small tutoring business out of my home. It has since expanded into Smith Street Workshop in order to meet the growing need for academic support and enrichment for kids in this French/American neighborhood.

We offer individual or group tutoring in all subject areas as well as many language courses for French learners of all levels and ages. Our teachers are unbelievably talented bilingual educators with an incredible passion for the French language and culture.
