The Cultural Services of the French Embassy (based in New York) are seeking a Development Officer to undertake the following responsibilities:
- Creation and implementation of an annual fundraising plan (foundations, corporations, individuals)
• Prospect research
• Grant writing and relations with foundations
• Development of corporate partnerships and sponsorships
• Advice on general communications (publications, speeches, etc.)
• Involvement in special events (fundraising, cultivation, public relations
The Development Officer will also work closely with the communications staff on outreach efforts with
development goals, as well as on marketing events sponsored or supported by the French Cultural Services. Such tasks may include, but will not be limited to, forging partnerships with media outlets and helping to update and create new content for our website, www.frenchculture.org.
Required skills:
• 3-5 years of development experience, including experience in foundation and corporate fundraising,
individual giving, and special events.
• Excellent administrative and computer skills (particularly database management)
• Extremely strong English writing and communication skills, including experience in producing
publications; graphics and layout background a plus.
• Ability to speak, read, and understand French.
• Diplomacy, discretion, patience and tact
• Knowledge of the New York arts and cultural community
