My name is Sarah and I am a rising undergraduate senior. I just finished studying abroad on a university Francophone Program and, during my week-long stay in Dakar, Senegal, I completed a 4-day internship at the YMCA. This was a great opportunity for me to further pursue my teaching of English and a second language and to improve my French in an NGO setting. In fact, I enjoyed my time at the YMCA so much that I asked to return for an internship this summer.

My only obstacle at this moment is the cost incurred by the flight from New York to Dakar (~$1000), as well as the cost of living with my host family($500). My family's financial situation is very tight at this time, particularly in lieu of my parent's divorce this past year. ACI Baobab is not able to offer me funding and I have been unsuccessful thus far in finding funding opportunities through my university.

I am hard-pressed this summer for an internship, especially one that offers me experience in teaching ESL or in my chosen career path of Conference Interpreting of foreign languages.

PLEASE help me pursue a month-long internship at the YMCA of Dakar, teaching English as a second language to adults and children, gaining invaluable language skills.
