This conference will examine the status of the object as it relates to the construction of desire at a time when objects have become structurally obsolete. This analysis, based on a reading of Playing and Reality by Donald Winnicott, will analyze the economic, moral, and spiritual crisis created by the obsolescence of objects.
Bernard Stiegler is the Director of the Department of Cultural Development at the Centre Georges-Pompidou in Paris and the co-founder of Ars Industrialis. His work includes a three-volume project, Technics and Time.
