Some of you may already know me from reading the post “Profile of a French Immersion Student in 1977” and know that from age 11 to 26, I studied French mostly through immersion. (To read the essay, click here: http://www.newyorkinfrench.net/profiles/blogs/profile-of-a-french-immersion-student)

This fall, I have the opportunity through a residency with the University of Chicago to spend the month of September in Paris doing research for expanding one of my short stories into a novel, inspired by the painting, The Gleaners, above by Millet. The residency includes an office and great resources, but does not include travel and living expenses. This will be my first time in France since 1999.

I would appreciate your help through crowd funding, if you think that this project deserves some support. Thank you!
