3438633950?profile=originalMaster French filmmaker François Ozon returns with a hilarious,

visually stunning love letter to 1970’s style and design!

**THANK YOU everyone for the fantastic conversation about François Ozon's films!  We've closed comments now, and two winners have been selected for the advance screening of "Potiche." Hope to see you at the theaters March 25th when it opens!"

“Potiche” is a wild romp about a wealthy, neglected 70’s housewife (Deneuve), who must step into her husband’s role as head of the family umbrella factory when he falls ill. Our heroine transforms from submissive wife and mother to confident businesswoman with high comedy – and a spectacular array of hair and wardrobe styles. Joined by Gérard Depardieu, Catherine Deneuve is luminous as a woman evolving to embrace modernity. Selected for the 2010 Venice and Toronto Film Festivals, “Potiche” is a bona fide critical and box office hit in France, where it has been nominated for four Césars for Best Actress, Best Supporting Actress, Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Costume Design.

The film trailer just launched today – you can watch it here.

  •  I am a veteran French teacher who sees most French films that come to the suburbs of New York City. I have seen "8 Femmes" and one of my students did an Independent Study on French film. The subject of a musical mystery was clever and the film was unique with its 8 stars. I also saw "Swimming Pool" and found it to be appealing and different.
  • swimming pool a cause de charlotte rampling, evidemment --

  • Postiche was just opening in Paris when I was there in November. I heard mixed reviews -- good and fair ones, no real pans. Now that I realize the film is by the Swimming Pool director, I'm intrigued.... Enjoyed Swimming Pool, missed 8 femmes.
  • Come ON ! the real star in this movie is for sure Fabrice Luchini !
  • « Te voir près de moi, c’est à la fois une joie et une souffrance. » petit clin d’œil de Ozon à Truffaut dans le film 8 femmes!
  • Swimming pool!
  • I thought Swimming Pool was fantastique!
  • Under the Sand is one of my favourite films by François Ozon.
