My beloved Upper School French colleague was just offered a tenure-track university position and is heading elsewhere – though she is sad to do so. This new opening can include all junior and senior classes (including AP) or all ninth and tenth-grade classes. In either position, the classes would be small, the department amazing, and the course load would not exceed four sections. Position
Friends Academy seeks an experienced French teacher for the Fall 2022, someone who is excited about teaching high school students to engage in our core educational practices. A successful candidate will thrive in a vibrant educational environment, embrace change, and will have deep interest in our Quaker mission and educational philosophy. Support activities that contribute to the life of the school may include a co-curricular responsibility, advising, and/or attendance at faculty and other meetings.
Qualifications
French language high school instruction, with a focus on 21st-century learning skills. An undergraduate degree is required, and a graduate degree in either education or in a relevant discipline is preferred. Teaching experience of at least three years is desired, and experience with the AP program is a plus. A successful candidate must have excellent communication skills, and strong organizational, time management, and technology skills. The person will be student-centered and excited to work collaboratively with students, colleagues, and the community.
