Film Festival Intern/Volunteer (West Village) - Rated SR Film Festival NY

Great opportunity for persons interested in film, socially relevant topics and/or working in a non-profit setting.

Rated SR -- Socially Relevant Film Festival New York is a project of Pemart Productions, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to the promotion of socially relevant entertainment.

The first edition of Rated SR launches March 14-20, 2014 at the Quad Cinemas in New York City and runs in parallel in upstate New York at the Carey Center for Global Good.
Rated SR organizers have a successful track-record in film festival curating, film event organization, administration and project management.

We are currently contacting corporate and business sponsors and are looking for key volunteers and interns to start immediately:
1) Fundraising volunteer/intern
2) Marketing & PR volunteer/intern

Team meetings will take place but most work will be done remotely. This is not a film production internship/volunteer opportunity, but a film festival and/or fundraising internship/volunteer opportunity. There will be opportunities of being included in the team during the festival and continuing for the second edition. You will get free tickets to some of the screenings as well.

What we expect:
- Be responsible & self-motivated
- Have excellent interpersonal skills and creative thinking
- Be available for 3 months minimum beginning this September
- Committed to at least 10 hours / week
- Have basic expertise in MS Word, Excel, as well as Google Docs

What we prefer:
- Previous experience in fundraising, social media, marketing & PR.
- Previous experience in festival management
- An interest in film and socially relevant issues
- Experience and/or contacts in either industry (film & non-profit)

We welcome any person with appropriate experience to volunteer with us.
