The Fall 2013 EFNY program starts the week of September 16th, 2013 and finishes the week of January 27th, unless otherwise indicated. The program is open to all local students, regardless of the school that they attend. Classes occur once or twice a week depending on the level and are two hours long each. 
We offer two types of classes, Francophone (French for Native Speakers) and Anglophone (French as a Second Language), as described hereafter.

Petits Francophones I – This class is open to bilingual students in Kindergarten. In this class, all activities (singing, sound drills, reading, writing, and board games) are conducted in French.

Jeunes Francophones II – This class is open to bilingual students in 1st grade who are already reading in English, and will be reading and writing in French. In this class, all activities (singing, sound drills, reading, writing, and board games) are conducted in French.

Moyens Francophones – This class is open to bilingual students in 2nd and 3rd grades who are already reading in English, and will be reading and writing in French. In this class, all activities (singing, sound drills, reading, writing, and board games) are conducted in French.

Grands Francophones – This class is open to students in grade 3-5 (depending on their level, younger students may be invited to join) who are truly fluent in French, and focuses on oral and written expression, grammar and spelling. In this class, all activities (singing, sound drills, reading, writing, and board games) are conducted in French.

Middle School Francophones – This class is open to students who are truly fluent in French, and focuses on language skills development, as well as history/geography and cultural learning

Beginners Anglophones – This is an introduction to French for Kindergarten and 1st. graders. This class is an introduction to verbal communications and is adapted to the comprehension skills of young learners. The goal is to bring the children to express simple phrases in basic social situations through various activities: stories, creative projects, songs and scholastic games.

Intermediate Anglophones - This is an introduction to French for 2nd and 3rd graders. This class objective is to expand vocabulary and language skills, while developing the ability to discuss various topics of interest.

Grands Anglophones – This is an introduction to French for 4th, and 5th graders. This class is dedicated to improve verbal communication and also work on written language skills.


DATES:
Classes for the first semester will start the week of September 16th, 2013 and end the week of January 27th, 2014.
Second semester starts the week of February 3rd, 2014 and ends the week of June 16th, 2014.
