French Teacher (2016-17)

 

Far Brook School in Short Hills, New Jersey, seeks a part-time French teacher for grades 7 and 8. The curriculum at this level covers typical French I topics and builds on the skills, vocabulary, and structures acquired in earlier years in our French program.The school strives to create a supportive and engaging environment where children feel secure in taking intellectual risks and participating to their fullest capacity. Through authentic, meaningful language-learning experiences, children acquire French and gain a deep understanding of the language as a whole.  Candidates ideally should be familiar with TPRS (Teaching Proficiency through Reading and Storytelling) and other Comprehensible Input techniques. A degree in foreign language education and previous experience teaching are required.
