FASNY is looking for Afterschool Supervisors

The French-American School of New York is looking for after-school supervisors for her preschool (in Scarsdale) and her elementary school (in Larchmont) for its extended day program for the school year 2016-2017.

Supervisors work 3:15 - 6:15PM, Monday Tuesday Thursday and Friday, 12:15 – 5:15 PM on Wednesdays. Supervisors must commit to working for the entire school year (through June 16th).

The Supervisor is responsible for maintaining student safety and organization at all times, supervising, nurturing, and caring for children typically from ages 6 to 11 years old.

Required Qualifications: at least 2 years of supervisory experience in a children’s program, good supervisory, communication, and organizational skills a must.

Preferred Qualifications:  Degree in Early Childhood Education; CPR & First Aid Training, fluent in French (not necessary).

20-25 hours per week.


Primary responsibilities

•           Welcomes children each day, performs crafts and activities and ensures children behave well when in contact with other children.

•           Nurture and care for children

•           Organize activities and implement curricula that stimulate children's physical, emotional, intellectual, and social growth.

•           Provide for a child's basic needs.

•           Prepare daily and long-term schedules of activities.

•           Supervise children while they are playing outside or on a playground.

•           Report behavior to parents each day.

•           Report issues to the program coordinator.
