On July 8th Williamsburg is going French! Location: East River State Park in Brooklyn (Kent Avenue and North 8th street) 6:00 p.m. French Games & Activities Hosted by the French Embassy: French Games (Elastique, Pétanque, Ballon Prisonnier, Chat Perché, Marelle), Face Painting, Balloon Tying, French Culture Quiz Bowl, And Much More 7:00 p.m. Musical Guest Marie Martin Marie Martin is a French singer/songwriter using her personal experiences, relationships and travels to New York, London and her native Brittany as her main inspirations. She is a true picture of her work: between modernity and nostalgia, between soul and jazz. 8:00 p.m. Film Azur et Asmar By Michel Ocelot / Animation / 2006 / In English / Rated: PG / 99 min. As kids, blue-eyed, blonde-haired Azur and dark-eyed, dark-haired Asmar, fought and loved each other as brothers do. As grown ups, they mercilessly become rivals in the quest for the Djinn's fairy, in a medieval Maghreb, full of dangers, magic spells and wonders.
