Preview SCOPE New York 2018: Carole Jury and Laurence de Valmy presented by AZART Gallery

 

New York, NY – Artists Carole Jury and Laurence de Valmy are pleased to announce their participation at SCOPE New York, represented by AZART Gallery. For its 18th edition, SCOPE New York the first fair to run concurrent with The Armory Show, returns to its Chelsea location at Metropolitan Pavilion from March 8 to March 11. Both artists will be present during the VIP + Press preview on March 8. “I’m happy to be present once more at SCOPE with such a nice pool of artists” says Latifa Metheny, Founder of Azart Gallery, who has selected the two artists through the collaboration with French Wink a platform supporting French creation.

Carole Jury known for her powerful abstract paintings with broad textured strokes, her ability to capture shadows and lights and her eye for color will present recent works.

Laurence de Valmy will present works from the POST series, based on the work and life of major artists. Each artwork is presented as an Instagram post from the past, combining an original painting and some imagined dialogues between the artist and his connections.

 

About Carole Jury

Born in Lyon (France), Carole Jury lives in Princeton, NJ. Carole is both a photographer and an abstract painter and she combines the two medium of expression in her process, starting from photography and then transposing it to painting, to create her series with poetic names such as Dark sea or La Vie en Rose. Working mainly in oils but also in acrylics, Carole Jury likes to play with materials to express herself: her paintings can be either made on canvas, wood or aluminum, incorporating leather or fabrics. 

Carole Jury is represented by Azart Gallery – NYC, Gallery of Art & Music – Las Vegas and is a resident artist of Bo Concept Princeton.

About Laurence de Valmy:
Laurence de Valmy is a French born artist (74), who lives and works in Philadelphia.
She was awarded an Artist Residency by the Eileen Kaminsky Foundation (ESKFF) at Mana Contemporary, NJ in 2017 for her project on the POST series. Her work was listed in the top 5 of the Miami Art Week 2017 by Design Phase dba, one of Asia’s leading interior design firms.
Laurence de Valmy work is represented by Azart Gallery NY, Kahn Gallery (London) and bG Gallery (LA).
