Cet atelier sera consacré à la découverte de Culturethèque, la bibliothèque numérique de la culture française, développé par l’Institut français, l’operateur culturel du Ministre des Affaires Etrangères et Européennes. Cette plateforme, qui a débuté en juillet, 2013, permet aux utilisateurs d’accéder sur place et à distance à des ressources numériques grand public : livres numériques, presse, audiovisuel, musique, soit en téléchargement ou en flux continu. Cette plateforme a pour mission de diffuser plus largement les ressources électroniques et de ce fait permet d’atteindre un objectif commun qui est le rayonnement de la langue française.
A la fin de cette formation, vous serez capable de :
- Identifier les ressources sur le site Culturethèque
- Naviguer le site et comprendre comment consulter les ressources disponibles
- Savoir comment vous inscrire pour avoir accès aux ressources
- Comprendre comment exploiter les ressources de Culturethèque dans un cours FLE
La seconde partie de l’atelier sera consacrée aux travaux de groupe qui permettront aux participants de mettre en pratique les notions abordées et de partager leurs connaissances et savoir-faire avec leurs collègues.
Katharine Branning, MLS, is Vice-President of the French Institute Alliance Française in New York City, where she serves as Director of FIAF’s Library, the leading all-French library in the United States. Before coming to FIAF in 1994, she was Librarian at the French Embassy Cultural Services in New York City. In 1982, she was one of the founders of the Library of the French Institute of Architecture in Paris. In addition to the force behind the creation of the FIAF Library, she is the founder and sustainer of three national projects destined for the network of American Alliance Française chapters: Project Benjamin, Project Merlin and Culturethèque. Ms. Branning is Chevalier dans l’Ordre National du Mérite. She serves on the Board of the Fédération of Alliances Françaises USA, where she is director of the “One Book, One Federation” national French book club.
Fatiha Bali, teacher at FIAF, was born and raised in Paris. She grew up in the heart of Montmartre. She holds a MA in Information and Communication (with a Major in International Affairs & the Media) from the University of Paris VIII (Saint-Denis). Freelance journalist for some local newspapers in France, she also worked in PR before coming to NYC in 2001. Freelance translator and a teacher of French for the past 6 years in a language school in NYC, she also teaches French at Columbia University for the MBA and SIPA (School of International Public Affairs) non-degree programs.
