As part of the Tilt Kids Festival, co-produced by the Cultural Services of the French Embassy and French Institute Alliance Française (FIAF), the French Cultural Services will host an English reading of the children's play Oh Boy!, directed byOlivier Letellier, on April 2.

Oh Boy! is the honest and heartrending story of a group of siblings that falls from the sky into the lap of an unqualified, unprepared young man. With tenderness and humor, Marie-Aude Murail's renowned children's novel examines some of life’s most devastating events, such as illness and the loss of a loved one, and challenges society’s definitions of normalcy and family. 

The reading will be followed by a Q&A.

Olivier Letellier was trained at the École Internationale de Théâtre Jacques Lecoq. He discovered storytelling through Gigi Bigot, and subsequently worked under Abbi Patrix, Pépito Matéo, and Muriel Block. In 2000, he founded his theater company, Théâtre du Phare. In 2009, Letellier staged Oh Boy!, adapted from the novel by Marie-Aude Murail, which won a Young Audiences Molière award in 2010. In 2014, he initiated the Playwriting for Young Audiences project in collaboration with the authors Sylvain Levey, Magali Mougel and Catherine Verlaguet, which led to three new plays in the 2015-2016 season: Maintenant que je sais (Now that I know), Je ne veux plus (I No Longer Want To), Me taire (Be Silent). Olivier Letellier is an Associated Artist with Théâtre National de Chaillot, Paris.
