Inspired by Benjamin Franklin's Sunday suppers at his home in Passy, outside of Paris, from 1776 to 1785, and putting aside our lineage going back to 1940, when prominent American expats returned to the US during the Occupation, the Club provides a genteel alternative for developing relationships in today's harried, on-line world.

Of course, there are many groups in New York that offer business and social networking opportunities, “What is special about the Paris American Club?” you may ask.

While there is a time and place for everything, consider meeting a potential business prospect at one of today's typical "speed dating" style card exchanges, trying to read their name-tag while juggling a glass of wine and piece of cheese and fumbling to exchange business cards...

Now imagine the next step of building a relationship: inviting that contact to join you for a civilized luncheon in an elegant setting, with a sparkling welcome, where you share a gourmet, three-course meal, accompanied by French wines, listen to an inspiring but brief talk, all in the convivial company of fellow members and friends, seated comfortably at table. Vous voyez la différence, n’est-ce pas ?

The Paris American Club is a combination social, cultural, business and gourmet group, composed of approximately 60% Americans and 40% French, who meet monthly for lunch. While English is the official language for presentations, individual conversations flow from French to English. We also sponsor other activities in the evenings and are looking to re-introduce our scholarship program in the near future.

If you think we might be a good fit, I encourage you to view the membership levels on our website, to determine which one is most appropriate for your situation.

If you have never attended one of our luncheons, please join us on Thursday, September 10, at 12:30, to experience the Club first-hand. Our guest speaker is Ariane Daguin of D'Artagnan, who will kick off the season with panache. You may sign up here.
