The great flowering of French art song is celebrated in New York Festival Of Song's "The Sweetest Path." Artistic Directors Steven Blier ("A national treasure when it comes to the art of song" - New York Times) and Michael Barrett, General Director of the Caramoor Festival, are pianists/hosts for singers selected from around the United States, performing Gounod, Faure, Bizet, Satie, Ravel, Debussy and other great composers. The event is the culmination of Caramoor's second annual "Vocal Rising Stars" program, a week-long residency for young professionals devoted to guiding and inspiring the next generation of vocal talent. The Caramoor Center for Music and the Arts in Katonah, New York is the program’s sponsor, and the program will be underwritten, in part, by the Terrance W. Schwab Fund for Young Vocal Artists.
