Teacher Resources: Monet and Impressionism

Thursday, March 31, 3:30-7:00pm (latecomers welcome)

FREE for Pre-K-12 educators and administrators. Space is limited. RSVP required 2 weeks prior to the program by e-mail. Teachers@WadsworthAtheneum.org

Begin your night at the museum by networking with your peers. At 4:00pm, join the presentation “Observing Monet’s Obsession” by Eric Zafran, Susan Morse Hilles Curator of European Art. Afterwards, enjoy an in-depth exploration of the current special exhibition, Monet’s Water Lilies: An Artist’s Obsession, along with other works by Impressionists in the museum’s permanent collection as you participate in docent-led tours.

Earn Continuing Education Units by staying for the 6:00pm public lecture, “Monet’s Water Lilies,” by Charles Stuckey. This internationally recognized Monet scholar will discuss the artist’s iconic works as they relate to key figures in history.

Bring your school calendar; staff can schedule your next group visit at this event. Tours in French are available for school groups.
