Strand Releasing is proud to announce the US release of STAYING VERTICAL, French writer-director Alain Guiraudie’s new provocative and genre-defying character study about a filmmaker struggling with creativity, responsibility, fatherhood, and sexuality. Beloved French actor and award-winning comedian Patrick Timsit returns to FIAF this February with his acclaimed new show On ne peut pas rire de tout.

No topic is too risqué. Timsit tests the limits of what makes us laugh, bringing to life a posse of bad guys—from racists to Nazis, anti-Semites and macho men—in order to tear them down.

With biting wit and brilliant insights into politics and society, Timsit brings his signature style and caustic humor to show that you really “can laugh at everything—what’s important is how.”

Louis Durey, a member of "Les Six"--a band of friends who created music in Paris during and after the First World War--wrote songs set to poetry by Mallarmé and Heine, Éluard, Hikmet and Audisio, and Langston Hughes. Durey's music reflects the trajectory of the 20th century and explores the political climate of the era.

Previously unpublished, Durey's music will soon be heard on a new recording. This concert premieres the previously unheard works.
