  • DIARY OF A CHAMBERMAID

  • Jun 9, 2016 to Aug 26, 2016
  • Location: Lincoln Plaza Cinema
  • Description:

Cohen Media Group is proud to announce the upcoming release of Benoît Jacquot’s provocative update of the classic novel DIARY OF A CHAMBERMAID, starring Léa Seydoux as the titular chambermaid, in her second collaboration with Mr. Jacquot since Farewell, My Queen, and award-winning French actor Vincent Lindon (The Measure of a Man). DIARY OF A CHAMBERMAID is scheduled to open on Friday, June 10 in New York (Lincoln Plaza Cinema) and Los Angeles (Royal).

Léa Seydoux follows in the footsteps of Paulette Goddard and Jeanne Moreau, as Célestine, a resentful young Parisian chambermaid who finds herself exiled to a position in the provinces. There she must immediately chafe against the noxious iron rules and pettiness of her bourgeois mistress (Clotilde Mollet), rebuff the groping advances of Monsieur (Hervé Pierre), and reckon with her fascination with the earthy, brooding gardener Joseph (Lindon). Backtracking past the fetishism of Buñuel’s version to Octave Mirbeau’s original 1900 novel,

  • Description:

The first EINY 2016 Summer Camp will take place from June 27 to July 15, 2016 for children 3 to 10 years old. The camp is open to all children including those who have no French or English background. Come and get a taste of French!

This new summer camp will provide a fun and bilingual experience in French and English through activities like art, dance, music, sports, and cultural excursions at our campus located in the Flatiron Neighborhood.

Our camp staff is composed of EINY teachers and specialty teachers from the EINY After-School program who are experienced and trained to work with language learners of all levels. All the members of our staff are native speakers of French and English and are bilingual in both languages.

The camp will offer children an immersion experience to learn and practice French and English through daily camp activities. Children will have the opportunity to improve their language skills at their own pace using both target languages in real-world settings.

  • Jun 27, 2016 at 5:00am to Jul 29, 2016 at 12:00pm
  • Location: Larchmont Campus
  • Description:

Philosophy: Using years of excellence in bilingual education, we have designed a unique program where children will learn French by doing. Research shows that an early start, teachers with native fluency, total immersion and practical experience are essential steps on the path to language proficiency. From experience we know that, if the enjoyment is there, the learning of the language will naturally take place.

Program: Our program revolves around fun, hands-on activities led by native French instructors that will stimulate the children’s conversation skills but also open them to the French and Francophone cultures. We welcome preschoolers as young as 3 years old, half day or full day, as long as they are potty-trained and ready for this wonderful adventure. In small groups, the children will hear and speak French all day through fun activities that will respect their rhythm. Quiet time is also scheduled. Our program for children in grades 1-5 will stimulate their conversation skills
