    Come to our new cabaret show telling Piaf’s story through song, circus and burlesque!

    On JUNE 9TH at 8pm (doors at 7pm) and JULY 13TH at 9.30pm (doors at 9pm), I will happily guide you through the decadent world of Edith Piaf using her timeless songs to retell the life of this iconic performer who’ve inspired me so much in becoming an artist. Accompanied by a traditional musette band and multi-disciplinary backup singers, I will recreate the brothels, circuses and nightclubs that created the great Piaf we all know. The performance will last 60-70 minutes.

    2015 marks Edith Piaf’s centennial. ‘La Môme Piaf’, as she was nicknamed, introduced America to the world of ‘Chanson Réaliste’. Her songbook has become classic and still engages audiences worldwide. However, her early life is shrouded in mystery – daughter of a circus performer, childhood in a brothel, blind for years and ‘miraculously’ cured by a pilgrimage St. Therese – these stories and more are brought to life with music, dance

    L’Atelier Théâtre propose des cours aux amateurs de théâtre français de New York.

    Les élèves y apprennent à prendre la parole en public, à s’exprimer avec passion. Ils y découvrent le plaisir de la langue à travers le jeu. Les élèves bilingues y trouvent en particulier un moyen d’améliorer ou de perfectionner leur maîtrise du français en empruntant un chemin d’accès ludique à la langue. Pour les adultes, les cours de l’Atelier sont l’occasion de se détendre, de s’amuser et de travailler sur le répertoire français. Nous montons des spectacles en fin de cycle qui sont l’occasion de partager le travail accompli sur l’année ou sur la session.

    Cet été, nous proposons des ateliers intensifs au mois de juillet pour enfants, ados et adultes. Nous proposons des jeux, et activités théâtrales et travaillons sur des scènes du répertoire et de comedia dell’arte. Les élèves présentent les scènes en fin de cycle.

    Splash into Summer with French!

    The Language and Laughter Studio is pleased to announce we will be continuing with another summer of French language fun, arts, songs, and games in July and August of 2015! Families and children all around Brooklyn love summer camp at LLS because of the interactive and hands-on French language learning activities that happen in a supportive and nurturing child-centered environment.

    We have a team of teachers who are currently preparing an academically enriching French program that balances creative and imaginative explorations with structured French learning. Younger children learn the language through engrossing imaginative play, humorous movement games, and original and art creations. New to French? Your child is welcome here as well as our teachers create a curriculum that is joyful and interesting for children at every level.

    Le Quatorze juillet 2014, “Bastille Day”, is around the corner, and what better way to celebrate in style than at New York’s Official Bastille Day Ball?  This is the major annual event organized by the Committee of French Speaking Societies, Inc. which now in its 91st year, boasts a membership of 69 French/Francophone associations and an all-volunteer Board.

    The Ball will take place on Monday, July 13th, under the Patronage of His Excellency Gerard Araud, Ambassador of France to the United States, His Excellency  Francois Delattre, Permanent Representative of France to the U.N. and The Honorable Bertrand Lortholary, Consul General of France in New York.

     The Ball will be held at the “404”, located at 404 10th Avenue near 33rd Street, from 6:00 PM to 1:00 AM.  It will be an authentic French event featuring dancing to a live French Cabaret Show, a French DJ and hors d’œuvres. VIP-level ticket holders and Sponsors will enjoy a dedicated private lounge with a buffet style dinner and an open
