Ce disque réunis quatre musiciens emblématiques du jazz d'aujourd'hui et aligne une instrumentation totalement inédite : le sax alto de Miguel Zenón, le piano de Laurent Coq, mais aussi le trombone ou le violoncelle de Dana Leong, et la batterie ou les tablas de Dan Weiss.
Le groupe présente un répertoire composé à part égale par chacun des deux leaders, et inspiré de « Rayuela », l'un des plus fameux livres de Julio Cortazar (« Marelle » en français).
C'est une rencontre importante qui nous offre une musique audacieuse d'une grande fraîcheur et qui nous emmène en voyage, d'un continent à l'autre. C'est aussi un hommage magnifique à l'un des grands écrivains du XXème siècle et à son livre le plus ambitieux.
