Haïti, je t’aime! Ayiti, mwen renmen ou!. [Haïti, I love you!]: Haitian Author Talk followed by Haitian Music and Dance.
Inspired by the tragic earthquake of 2010, this anthology of 53 authors fron Ontario, Quebec and New York is a tribute to the strength and hope of the Haitian people in the face of adversity. A number of authors who participated in the anthology will read from their selections and answer questions.
The book presentation will be followed by a performance by the Agoci Dance Company. Founded by the Haitian performer and choreographer, Rol’hans Innocent, the company combines traditional Haitian folklore with modern contemporary dance. Agoci’s performance will be in honor of the victims of the earthquake with songs and dances specifically tied to the struggles of the Haitian people.
A reception with refreshments will follow. Copies of Haiti, je t’aime! will be available for sale and autographing.
Program in French and English.
