The Maison Française presents two of Bertrand Tavernier’s films about World War I, selected in recognition of the 100-year anniversary of the war’s beginning: Capitaine Conan on March 6 and Life and Nothing But (La Vie et rien d'autre) on March 12.

Near the end of World War I, in Bulgaria, Conan leads a band of 50 ruthless French fighters. At war’s end, the unit goes to Bucharest where Conan tries to keep them out of trouble.
Starring Philippe Torreton and Samuel Le Bihan and awarded Cesars for best actor and best director.
