THE OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking a dedicated, skilled, and mission-aligned Language teacher to join our warm and welcoming school community as a full-time elementary French/Spanish/Latin teacher. This is an exciting opportunity for an educator who is passionate about language acquisition, cultural appreciation, and student-centered instruction.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred
- New York State certification in French/Latin or a related area preferred; candidates actively working toward certification are encouraged to apply
- Demonstrated knowledge of data-driven, individualized instructional planning
- Experience with differentiated instruction and diverse learners
- Prior classroom or student teaching experience required; 2 years of teaching experience preferred
- Experience in special education is a plus
- Candidates currently enrolled in graduate programs with student teaching experience are warmly invited to apply — we are committed to supporting your professional and academic growth

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deliver engaging, standards-aligned French/Latin instruction across elementary grade levels (Pre-K through 8)
- Design and implement differentiated lessons that meet the needs of all learners
- Use data to inform instructional decisions and track student progress
- Foster a classroom culture rooted in the school’s Catholic and Franciscan values — one that celebrates curiosity, respect, collaboration, and faith
- Communicate regularly and professionally with families, colleagues, and administration
- Participate actively in faculty meetings, professional development, and school community events
- Uphold the policies and expectations outlined in the SSHS Parent/Student Handbook and Archdiocesan guidelines

Monday through Friday | 8:00am – 3:40pm | In-Person, New York City
